BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) - Mark Delmonte is charged with criminal possession of stolen property, among other charges, after city surveillance cameras caught him in the act.
At approximately 6:30am Sunday morning Buffalo Police say that Delmonte stole a gas grill and a snowblower from the Cazenovia Square Senior Complex in South Buffalo.
Nearby surveillance cameras at the corner of Cazenovia St. and Loraine Ave. caught a truck driving through the intersection with the stolen material.
Delmonte was arrested a short time later.
"This demonstrates very clearly, even at times when the lighting is not sufficient, the camera system has has an effectiveness that can be utilized," said Buffalo Police Commissioner McCarthy Gipson.
The city currently has 70 surveillance camers with 57 additional cameras planned.
