CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two Buffalo women are charged with a hate crime, following the beating of a gay man on New Year's Eve.

Police say 18-year-old Joy Darden and 19-year-old Deonna Burnett used anti-gay slurs and attacked the man in the Walden Galleria parking lot last Thursday. Police say the suspects began threatening the man inside the mall and followed him outside.

Police say the man was punched, kicked and robbed.
