EAST AURORA, N.Y. (WIVB) - East Aurora Police have arrested two local men accused of arranging sexual encounters with a 12-year-old girl over the internet.
Police say this is a case of what parents don't know, hurting a child.
19-year-old Robert Bogush, Jr. and 25-year-old Stephen Ziomek are charged with first degree rape and predatory sexual assault against a child. Investigators say the men met the 12-year-old girl on the website, MyYearbook.com.
Then the men, individually, set up encounters with the girl at her home. Investigators say the child knew sex was the reason the men were coming to her East Aurora house. An alert neighbor called police after spotting one of the men going to the home when the child's parents were not around.
The suspects are charged with felonies. Police are warning parents to be vigilant when it comes to children and the internet. They say what parents don't know could possibly harm their children for the rest of their lives.
