BROOKVILLE, PA. (WIVB) - A former Genesee county man, who may be linked to several western New York slayings, has been found guilty of murdering a Pennsylvania couple.
Steven P. Rebert, formerly of Oakfield, has been convicted of the murders of Wayne and Vicky Shugar in Snyder, Pa. The couple was found slain in the basement of their home on April 10, 2010.
Rebert is a “person of interest” in the unsolved slayings of Bill Fickel of Oakfield and Kevin Smith of Shelby.
Fickel was fatally shot in November, 2005 and Smith was also shot while inside his home in Shelby in 2007.
