PITTSBURGH, P.A. (WIVB) - Tobias Boyland, also known as "Bags of Money," was arrested on Monday in Pittsburgh.
Boyland was accused of running a predatory debt collection business and search warrants executed at his home turned up illegal firearms. Boyland was convicted last year on three counts of second degree criminal possession of a weapon and one count of fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Boyland was sentenced to 15 years in prison as a second violent felony offender, but rather than being remanded to prison while working on an appeal, Boyland spent a few days in jail before a judge released Boyland on an appeals bond. Boyland was supposed to turn himself in to begin serving his sentence after losing his appeal on January 7th, but he did not turn up.
U.S. Marshals, a State Police senior investigator, and technical staff in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. all played a part in capturing Boyland in Pennsylvania outside a Red Roof Inn.
