Woman arrested in church thefts

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - 36-year-old Sandra Michele Abrams was taken into custody late today after pictures of a woman wanted for thefts from church members led to a tip.

News 4 has confirmed that Erie County Sheriff deputies and Buffalo Police have took Abrams into custody after receiving a tip around 3 p.m. on November 24 that Abrams was hiding in a trailer on the Cattaraugus Reservation.

Deputies found her trying to hide underneath the trailer when they arrived. A number of purses were also recovered. Abrams is a known heroin addict. She is expected to be charged with several counts of grand larceny by Buffalo Police.

She is expected to be arraigned in Buffalo City Court on Wednesday, November 25.
