JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Jamestown man has been sentenced for breaking into churches on the southern tier, and he still faces sentencing for the same crime in Erie County.
John Bish, 47, was convicted of breaking into the Greek Orthodox Church on Francis Street and the Bethel Lutheran Church on W. 3rd Street in Jamestown. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to an indeterminate term of two to four years in state prison for two counts of third degree burglary.
Bish also admitted breaking into the Center Road Baptist Church in West Seneca and the Cazenovia Baptist Church in Buffalo. He has yet to be sentenced for those burglaries.
