ALFRED, N.Y. (WIVB) - A man accused of robbing the Community Bank in Alfred is now facing additional charges.
Scott Wade, 51, was caught last Friday after residents in Alfred gave chase when police say he fled the bank after a robbery. Wade took off at a high speed in his vehicle and eventually crashed. He was then arrested.
Police say Wade has now been charged in the January 4 robbery at the same bank. And police say before Wade committed that robbery, he called in a bomb threat at the Alfred-Almond School.
Wade is charged with third degree robbery, third degree grand larceny, third degree unlawfully fleeing police, first degree falsely reporting an incident and various vehicle and traffic violations.
Police believe Wade may also be connected to bank robberies in the Binghamton area.
Wade remains in the Allegany County Jail on $100,000 bail.
