CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Clarence man is locked up in the Erie County Holding Center on a million dollars bail after being charged with 44 felonies.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office reports Craig Walek, 49, of Milton Lane was arrested in part of an ongoing investigation into the repeated sexual abuse of a child that began when the victim was 12-years-old. Walek is charged with two counts of second degree rape, one count of second degree criminal sexual act, 11 counts of use of a child in a sexual performance, and 30 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.

Detectives say they found additional evidence at Walek's home relating to the manufacturing and possession of child porn.

Walek was arrested Friday and taken to the Holding Center on a million dollars bail.

The sheriff's office is intentionally limited the amount of information released about this case to help protect the identity of the victim.
