BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Deputies arrested two men they say admitted rolling a blunt just before being pulled over while a 6-year-old family member was unbuckled in the back seat.
On Tuesday around 7 p.m., the Erie County Sheriff's Office reports they arrested 21-year-old Alex Ruszala of Arcade and 26-year-old William Mack of Yorkshire. Deputies say while conducting a road check on Jefferson Avenue in the city, Ruszala drove into the check point and authorities immediately noted scattered marijuana debris all over the vehicle and his clothing.
While investigating the pair, authorities say they admitted they were rolling a blunt just prior to being stopped and were attempting to get rid of the evidence. Deputies say a 6-year-old family member was unbuckled in the back seat, Ruszala's car was unregistered and he has a suspended driver's license.
Ruszala and Mack were both arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana. Ruszala was additionally charged with traffic tickets for an unregistered vehicle, a suspended license, and failing to buckle in the 6-year-old child.
Both were taken to the Erie County Holding Center on $500 bail. The 6-year-old was turned over to his mother and Ruszala's vehicle was impounded.
