PERRYSBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) - A grand jury will now decide whether a Perrysburg man will go to trial for attempted murder on the Cattaraugus Reservation.
Nineteen-year-old Maxwell Mohawk was in court Wednesday. Police say he shot 23-year-old Charles White of Steamburg Sunday after the two had been arguing and drinking.
Defense attorney Linda Lovel said, "It's possible my client is not even capable of understanding these proceedings and participating in his defense, helping us to defend him."
White is in critical condition at ECMC.
