BATAVIA, NY (WIVB) - A Batavia church burglar was sentenced to the max today by Judge Robert C. Noonan.
John Cabrerra, Jr., 22, was convicted of burglary in a crime spree involving St. Paul’s , St. Mary’s Ascension West, First Baptist and St. James. He could be in prison for six to 18 years.
Cabrerra was ordered to pay restitution to Genesee County for damage he caused to the jail when he escaped. He also has to pay restitution to a woman he stole from.
Cabrerra’s attorney noted that most of Cabrera’s problems began after he started using bath salts.
