BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - NFTA Police halted a Metro train at the Theater Station on Main Street after receiving a call about a bomb on board.
NFTA Spokesman Doug Hartmayer tells News 4 a call was placed at the emergency phone at the Summer/Best Station that an explosive device was seen on the train. Police stopped the train in front of Shea's, evacuated the passengers and searched the cars with K9s.
Authorities say they found a small, harmless round clock under one of the seats. Officers are now pulling security footage from the train and the street to determine who is responsible for the hoax.
Hartmayer says the NFTA considers this a very serious matter and once caught, charges will be placed against the perpetrator.
