WARSAW, N.Y. (WIVB) - A call for a house fire ended with a drug bust in Wyoming County.
Firefighters responded to a burning home on Brooklyn Street in the Village of Warsaw Friday afternoon. Police say fire crews discovered a marijuana growing operation and about 136 marijuana plants valued at about $50,000.
Warsaw Police Assistant Chief Peter Hoffmeister said, "We had numerous marijuana growing lights, fluorescent lights. He had a whole tray set up with all the marijuana plants growing in it with the seed and all that stuff."
Scott A . Moulton, the man who lives there, is being charged with unlawful growing of marijuana, posession of marijuana and reckless endangerment of property. The fire caused around $30,000 damage to the building.
