NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - A shooting in Niagara Falls not only left a man wounded, but two other people hurt trying to find safety.
Nicklas Sparks described the scene as, “Insane, absolutely insane. It just looking like Grand Theft Auto.”
The scene on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls was something you'd only see in a video game.
Sparks said, “All the sudden I hear gunshots going off and I run downstairs and see a bunch of cops and fire trucks.”
Niagara Falls Police were called to Mujun'z Bar around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, when at least one gunshot was fired outside the bar.
Sparks explained, “Everyone was screaming, because this whole parking lot right here, that I live next to, was full of cars everybody's like, who got shot, who got shot?”
Thirty-six-year-old Antonio Porter, from Niagara Falls, fell victim to the unknown gunman, who police have not yet found. Porter was shot in the left hip and rushed to ECMC.
Neighbors say there was a pretty big part at Mujun'z. The crowd from the bar was overflowing into a parking lot. Neighbors say once the shot was fired the crowd scattered like fleas.
That's when two other people, trying to leave the scene, were hit by a car. Those two victims have not been identified by police. However, News 4 has learned one has a broken femur. Both were taken to Memorial Hospital. Still, it's unclear if the driver of that car was inside the bar before the shooting.
“It's close to home. And I’m kind like scared cause I'm wondering what's gonna come up next,” said concerned neighbor Sheila Sparks.
Police say the bar has been on their radar for some time, but this is the most major incident they've dealt with. This week, the city will be seeking State Liquor Authority sanctions against the bar.
