AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - A grand jury is taking up the case against an Erie County Sheriff's deputy, who's accused of driving drunk and causing a serious crash.
Prosecutors say 28-year-old Michael Haug was off-duty and rear-ended motorcyclist stopped for a red light at Sheridan and Bailey in Amherst this summer. The victim, 37-year-old Daniel Colosimo, was critically injured.
Deputy Haug is charged with DWI and vehicular assault.
