NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - Charges have been upgraded against a Niagara Falls Police officer accused of assaulting another woman during a country music concert at Darien Lake.
Kelly Alcorn, 47, of Grand Island will be arraigned next week on second degree assault charges. Alcorn has been on administrative leave since August of last year when she allegedly attacked a woman during a concert.
Alcorn had been charged with harassment, and that charge was later upgraded to third degree assault. But after a grand jury in Genesee County reviewed the case, Alcorn's charges were once again upgraded after enough evidence was found to support the felony charge.
The Niagara Falls Police Department states they are closely watching the proceedings in Batavia and are conducting their own investigation into the incident. The department has no further comment about Alcorn's pending day in court.
