COLLINS, N.Y. (WIVB) - A convicted felon from Gowanda is accused of firing a shotgun, even though he is not allowed to possess any weapons.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office says they were investigating complaints of gunshots near a house on South Quaker Road, in Collins, Tuesday night. Deputies say they located the shotgun involved, and it was determined that 23-year-old Stephen R. Spicola was firing it.
Spicola is not allowed to possess weapons because he is convicted felon, so he is charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanor criminal purchase of a weapon.
Spicola was taken to the Erie County Holding Center to await arraignment.
