JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Jamestown Police officer was arrested last week following an incident where he allegedly threatened to harm himself.

Ellicott Police were called to a home on Baker Street Ext. on January 17 and say they found off-duty Officer Michael Bush armed with a weapon and threatening to harm himself. Authorities spoke to Bush for a few hours, coaxing him to get the medical attention he needed.

RELATED | Bush is not the only Jamestown Police officer to recently run afoul of the law. Eric Corey resigned from the force last September after being accused of stealing drugs from the evidence room

For not following orders from police during the incident, Ellicott Police arrested Bush Tuesday night, charging him with second degree obstructing governmental administration. He was arraigned and released under supervision of probation.

Bush has been placed on administrative leave from the Jamestown Police pending an internal review.
