ERIE, Pa. (AP) - Police say the investigation into a body found at a northwestern Pennsylvania hotel led to the arrest of two people suspected in a series of bank robberies.

Investigators say they were called to the downtown Erie hotel Sunday by someone concerned about the man's welfare, saying heroin may be involved. Erie police say they arrested the pair after identifying them as acquaintances of the dead man.

Police tell the Erie Times-News 34-year-old Anthony Herrmann admitted two robberies and 27-year-old Erin Anderson admitted one in interviews with detectives.

Investigators are looking at Herrmann and Anderson in several other bank robberies, including two in New York and one in Ohio.

It wasn't clear if Herrmann and Anderson had attorneys. They remain jailed.

The dead man's identity hasn't been released.
