ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - Orchard Park Police say a man was uncooperative after they found him hiding inside a bathroom at the Tabernacle Food Pantry. Around noon on Monday, a witness called police saying they saw someone break into the pantry.
Police responded and say they found a broken window, that the witness had seen the suspect break. Police say they searched the building and located 33-year-old Edward J. Lawrence hiding in the bathroom.
Police say he was uncooperative and had to be forcibly taken into custody. Police say they took him to the police station, where he allegedly tried biting officers, urinated on the floors and walls and defecated.
Lawrence was charged with burglary, felony criminal mischief, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and harassment. He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and will return to court this week.
