PERRY, N.Y. (WIVB) - Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies and Perry Police responded to calls of a multiple person fight at a Hawthorne Street apartment Saturday around 2 a.m.
The sheriff’s office says 18-year-old Joshua Truax assaulted a male and damaged property inside of the apartment. The Mount Morris man allegedly resisted arrest and a police officer sprayed him with pepper spray while on a steep flight of stairs outside of the apartment. During the arrest, he allegedly damaged county-owned property.
Truax was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Truax was committed to the Wyoming County Jail on the Perry Police Department’s charges. He posted bail and is expected to return to Perry Court in December.
