GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police stopped a woman after a trooper says he spotted her injecting heroin into her leg as she drove down Grand Island Boulevard.
Tuesday afternoon on Grand Island, police pulled over Ashley Alba of Hamburg after a trooper witnessed her allegedly injecting herself with drugs. Alba was arrested and charged with DWAI by drugs and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was also ticketed for failing to wear a seatbelt.
PLEASE NOTE: At the time of her arrest, State Police say Ashley Alba lied about who she was, falsely giving troopers her sister's name , Shannon Alba. We regret the embarrassment it caused Shannon, who is innocent of this crime. State Police have now charged Ashley Alba with criminal impersonation.
State Police say Alba's two passengers, Lynn Reese and Nicole Andrews, both of Buffalo, were also taken into custody. Troopers say both had a large quantity of stolen goods on them, including air fresheners, shampoo, and over-the-counter pills. Both are charged with petit larceny and possession of burglar tools.
Troopers continue their investigation.
