EAGLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - A 44-year-old man was arrested by Wyoming County Sheriff's deputies who say he was texting before he crashed into a pond.
Douglas Gernstl was charged over the weekend with second degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving on a suspended registration, driving a vehicle without insurance as well as texting while driving. Deputies say Gernstl was texting before crashing into a pond at Robinson and Cadwell Roads in the Town of Eagle.
Authorities say Gernstl has a suspended license and his vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. He will appear in court later this month.
