BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Buffalo Police have two men in custody they say crashed their car after nearly striking an officer while attempting to avoid a checkpoint.
Strike Force officers were conducting a roadside checkpoint near Walden Avenue and Sycamore when authorities say a vehicle with two men inside sped past them at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, nearly hitting an officer.
A short time later, the vehicle struck a car driven by an elderly man at East Ferry and Leslie. The elderly man was taken to ECMC, where he is listed in stable condition.
Police say charges are pending against the two suspects.
