BROCTON, N.Y. (WIVB) - A corrections officer was taken into custody after authorities say he provided contraband to inmates inside the Lakeview Correctional Facility in Brocton.
German Lesmes, 53, of Fredonia was arrested Thursday and charged with second degree promoting prison contraband. An eight-month joint investigation between the Department of Corrections, Inspector General's Office, State Police and Chautauqua County DA's Office determined Lesmes provided food items to several inmates, a violation of the NYS Correctional Services rules and regulations.
Lesmes was issued a ticket to appear in the Town of Portland Justice Court at a later date.
