TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A young couple is under arrest, charged with several crimes throughout the Town of Tonawanda. And police say the pair are linked to other crimes in WNY.

On Thursday, 18-year-old Jason Graham and 20-year-old Lauren Rose Olmsted were arrested. Detectives gathered physical evidence during the day on Friday after finding stolen items in the motel room the couple were staying in.

Authorities say witness descriptions played an important role in their investigation. Police had canvassed the Colvin-Deerhurst neighborhood with flyers carrying the suspects' pictures. A clerk at the Super 8 at Sheridan and Military quickly pointed police to the very room the suspects were staying in.

Right now, Graham and Olmsted have been charged with two counts of attempted burglary, two counts of burglary, one count of grand larceny, two counts of criminal mischief, and two counts of petit larceny. They will both be arraigned Friday afternoon.

Graham has several outstanding warrants in other jurisdictions, and some of them are related to burglaries. Police say after he was arrested, he confessed to crimes committed in Tonawanda as well as other jurisdictions.

Lt. Nick Bado said, "So they've been very cooperative. And the subject of drug addiction, specifically heroin, did come up."
