LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) - The U.S. Attorney's Office says a Lockport woman admitted to DEA agents that she stole prescription pills and sold them on the street.

Lydia Klein, a former Rite Aid employee who worked in the pharmacy on South Transit Road in Lockport, was arrested on Monday. The U.S. Attorney's Office says Klein was caught on video surveillance on January 19 stealing 14 bottles of hydrocodone.

DEA agents interviewed Klein. They say she admitted stealing at least 1,100 hydrocodone, sold under the name Lortab, and alprazolam, sold under the name Xanax, pills and selling them around Lockport.

Klein appeared in court Monday to face charges of possession with intent to distribute prescription drugs.

If found guilty, the 43-year-old could be given a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.
