CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - His grieving family members believe, he was being robbed.

Two unknown men allegedly stormed into 37-year-old Armod Law's home overnight, and shot him to death.

The peace of this usually-quiet Cheektowaga neighborhood was shattered overnight, when police received a frantic 911 call from relatives of 37-year-old Armod Law.

Capt. Michael Isbrandt of the Cheektowaga Police said, "The call was for a home invasion, a shooting. Inside the residence, the officers found a deceased male."

According to two other people who were in Law's home at the time, two men burst in, and shot him. Neither of the witnesses were hurt.

Police have been canvassing the neighborhood, looking for anyone who may have seen or heard a commotion, around 2:15 AM.

Gregory Jarmuz is the victim's next door neighbor and said, "I didn't hear anything. My wife called to me around 2:30 in the morning; she says, 'Somebody's rapping on our window, flashing a flashlight through the window.' I woke up, looked outside; it was the police at our door."

Distraught family members can't understand it.

The victim's mother, Lillie Law said, "I don't know what happened, I don't know what happened. But, he didn't bother nobody."

"He was a good person, good dad. Everybody, you know... [he was] good. I don't know why somebody would do this to him," added the mother of the victim's son, Latocha Gray.

The only thing they can guess, is that whoever allegedly shot Law was trying to rob him. Lillie Law tells News 4 her son owned his own business -- a liquor store.

But police aren't ready to speculate about a motive, they're still trying to get a clear description of the assailants.

Capt. Lisbrandt said, "As we talk to the witnesses, we're going to put together some information and hopefully, have some good information on the suspects to put out for the help from the public."

Law's violent death has neighbors on edge.

Jarmuz added, "It doesn't make a difference where you live, crime's going to happen. But the Cheektowaga area, the area that we live in, the crime has been a little bit more than usual."
