SALAMANCA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Deputies say a drunk driver going 100 MPH accelerated when they tried to pull him over.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office has charged Ronald Weston, 54, of Burlington, Ontario with third degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer, aggravated DWI, failure to keep right and two counts of speeding.
Deputies say they saw Weston speeding down Route 353 in Salamanca on Sunday just after midnight and attempted to pull him over. But instead of stopping, authorities say Weston hit the gas.
Eventually, Weston stopped, but not before he crossed into the oncoming lane, according to authorities.
Weston was arrested and is being held on $2,500 bail.
