AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - An Erie County Sheriff's deputy, who admitted he was drunk when he struck a motorcyclist, will lose his badge.
The sheriff's office tells News 4 they're firing 29-year-old Michael Haug, who recently pleaded guilty to DWI and vehicular assault. Haug's blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit when his vehicle slammed into 37-year-old Daniel Colosimo, who was parked at a red light in Amherst this past summer.
Colosimo suffered a brain injury. Haug faces up to seven years behind bars.
