BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Buffalo Police were assisted by multiple agencies in conducting 103 search warrants throughout the city, resulting in the arrests of 63 people.
"Operation Power Sweep" began last Friday and continued through the weekend. It was the city's fourth series of drug raids this year aimed at stopping illegal activity and addressing quality of life issues.
On top of the arrests, police seized eight guns, crack cocaine, heroine, marijuana, assorted pills, and over $3,000 cash.
The following agencies assisted in the raids: DEA, Erie County Sheriff's Office, and SWAT teams from Amherst, Hamburg, Lancaster, Niagara County, State Police, and the Town of Tonawanda.
Many of the homes targeted in the raids were under investigation thanks to tips the city received from the the confidential tipline: 847-2255, the mayor's hotline: 311, and 911 calls.
