BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - An appeals court has rejected a request from a former Erie County lawmaker to throw out a verdict against him.
David Dale sued to have convictions for fraud and illegally practicing law thrown out. Dale continued to maintain a law office, receiving money for legal services, after he was disbarred as an attorney back in 2005.
Dale pleaded guilty to the charges in June 2012. He hoped to withdraw the plea by claiming poor representation by his defense attorney.
Dale was sentenced to a year in jail for the crimes.
