BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A disgraced local attorney was sentenced to a year in prison Wednesday.

Prosecutors say David Dale, 49, stole money from clients by pretending to be a practicing attorney, after he was disbarred in 2005.

Dale tried to get his guilty plea thrown out however, State Supreme Court Justice Christopher Burns denied his motion on Wednesday and proceeded with sentencing.

Dale was arraigned last September . He plead guilty to charges in June.
