ELLERY, N.Y. (WIVB) - After a two-car crash on the southern tier, deputies arrested one of the drivers after they say they found drugs and a weapon in his car.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. on Thursday on Route 380 in the Town of Ellery. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies say one of the drivers, 59-year-old Russell Calanni, was found to be in possession of an unregistered handgun and several controlled substances.
Calanni is charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second degree obstructing governmental administration, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, and possession of a controlled substance out of the original container.
He was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.
