JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A pedestrian operating an electric wheelchair was injured when she was struck by a car in Jamestown.
Police say 79-year-old Freda Palmer hit the woman on Harrison Street at South Main and then allegedly fled the scene. An unmarked car was on patrol and later stopped Palmer in the parking lot of the Bethel Baptist Church. She has been charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
The woman in the wheelchair sustained a minor injury to her right foot and was treated and released from WCA Hospital. Her electric wheelchair was also damaged in the collision.
