WALES, N.Y. (WIVB) - Deputies say they stopped a drunk driver who was attempting to pass on a double line while going 70 MPH in a 45 MPH zone.
On Monday around 9 p.m., Erie County Sheriff's deputies on patrol on Hunters Creek Road in Wales say they witnessed 55-year-old David Dauer attempt the dangerous passing maneuver while on a hill. Deputies pulled him over and found the East Aurora resident was intoxicated.
Authorities say Dauer has nine current suspensions on his license for failure to pay/answer summons. Deputies say a breath test showed Dauer had a BAC of .23 percent, almost three times the legal limit.
Dauer has been charged with aggravated DWI, reckless driving, second degree aggravated unlicensed operation, marijuana possession, and multiple traffic infractions. He will appear in Wales Court at a later date.
