CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Williamsville man was observed speeding 24 mph over the 45 mph speed limit Tuesday night leading to his DWI charge and several others.
Deputies attempted pulling over 37-year-old Zakariya H. Ibrahim, but he tried to get away. Deputies say Ibrahim eventually stopped after driving through several red lights. Officials say he then drove off again when they tried to approach his vehicle.
When finally stopped, deputies say he failed several field sobriety tests that showed his BAC to be .18%.
He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated as well as reckless endangerment 2nd, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration 2nd, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle 3rd as well as 14 vehicle and traffic law misdemeanor and violation level offenses.
Ibrahim was taken to the Erie County Holing Center pending his arraignment in the Town of Clarence Justice Court.
