BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Just in time for Halloween, police in Buffalo say a drug raid turned up 640 marijuana lollipops that had been obtained in California under the guise that they were for medicinal purposes.
The Buffalo News reports that police raided a party on Thursday in the 600 block of Delaware Avenue and found several extremely high University of Buffalo students.
Police say they found 640 Jolly Lolly suckers as well as regular marijuana, cocaine and $13,000 in cash.
They arrested 26-year-old Alexander Zito on felony drug charges.
Jolly Lolly candies are marketed as a discreet way to consume pot. Medical marijuana is legal in California but not in New York.
Police say Zito had them shipped cross country to Buffalo.
Information on an attorney for Zito was not available.
