DWI charges for man asleep in drive-thru

HANOVER, N.Y. (WIVB) - Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a restaurant on Rt.5 and Rt. 20 in the Town of Hanover for a man passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle while in the drive-thru line.
Sheriff’s Deputies found Eladio Merced asleep behind the wheel of his running vehicle, allegedly intoxicated.
Merced was taken into custody and later arraigned in Town of Hanover court on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Eladio Merced was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail and will appear back in Hanover Town Court at a later date.
