AMITY, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police say a verbal fight in Allegany County turned tragic overnight, when 29-year-old Jason S. Cipriano was fatally stabbed.
According to police, Cipriano and 33-year-old Jason E. Mehmel got into a verbal argument in the roadway near Tuckers Corner Road. The argument lead to a physical altercation and police say Mehmel is accused of fatally stabbing Cipriano in the upper chest.
Police say Mehmel fled the scene on foot, but a short time later surrendered himself to authorities.
Mehmel was charged with felony second-degree murder and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
