WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WIVB) - West Seneca Police say they arrested 30 year-old Shane R. Spoonley after an attempted home invasion on Reserve Road near Thomas Drive at 9:30 a.m on Sunday, August 26th.
Authorities say Spoonley tried to shove his way into the house while displaying, but the homeowner managed to shove Spoonley outside. Police say he took off running. Officer Robert Deepeler was able to locate the suspected robber coming out from backyard on Wind Mill Drive, where he was then taken into custody. Spoonley was taken back to the scene, where officers say the homeowner identified him as the robber.
Spoonley is being charged with burglary in the 1st degree, attempted robbery 1st degree, criminal possession of a weapon 4th degree, and harassment 2nd degree.
Police say after taking Spoonley into custody, they discovered he had an arrest warrant out of West Seneca for grand larceny 4th, petit larceny, and possession of a forged instrument.
Spoonley was processed on all charges and currently remains in a holding cell, awaiting his arraignment with West Seneca Town Justice Dale McCabe.
