Homeowners say they woke up to burglary

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) - Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home in Grand Island overnight, where homeowners say they woke up to the sound of a burglar in their home. The homeowners say they woke up and then saw the burglar run out of their house.
The sheriff’s office says the homeowners “wisely called 911 instead of chasing the subject.” A crime technician was sent to the scene to gather evidence. The sheriff’s office is reminding residents to lock their windows and doors.
