Husband and wife charged with burglary

MIDDLEBURY, N.Y. (WIVB) - Wyoming County Sheriff's deputies arrested a husband and wife Thursday afternoon they say were burglarizing a home while their 10-month-old daughter waited in the back seat.

Deputies were called to Route 19 in the Town of Middlebury to investigate a possible burglary around 2:30 p.m. Within minutes of the call, officers responded and say they watched 27-year-old Harley Dubois walking down the road, away from the scene. Authorities say Harley got into a car, one that matched the description given to police, and deputies pursued. After a brief high-speed chase, the vehicle was stopped on Fox Road thanks to a road block.

Inside the car with Harley, deputies found his wife, 27-year-old Amanda Dubois, and their 10-month-old daughter. The child was unharmed and the couple was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies say the husband and wife were responsible for another daylight burglary in the beginning of January. Currently, Harley is charged with two counts of second degree burglary, two counts of fourth degree grand larceny, and third degree criminal mischief. Amanda is charged with two counts of second degree burglary and two counts of fourth degree grand larceny. Authorities say additional charges will likely be filed in the near future.

Both were taken to the Wyoming County Jail. Bail for Harley was set at $100,000, and Amanda's bail was set at $25,000.
