ATTICA, N.Y. (WIVB) - An Attica Correctional Facility inmate was arrested Thursday for allegedly promoting prison contraband. State Police say 31-year-old Shakin Gordon possessed heroin and marijuana wrapped in latex and plastic.

Police say Gordon was charged with felony first-degree promoting prison contraband, misdemeanor seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and a violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.

He was arraigned in Wyoming County Court and was released back to the custody of Department of Corrections Personnel.

Gordon had been serving time for drug and burglary charges out of the Bronx.
