JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A K9 unit helped police take two young men accused of burglarizing a Jamestown home into custody Tuesday afternoon.
A citizen called police at 1:20 p.m. to report a break-in at a home on West 11th Street. Police arrived in moments and set up a perimeter. One young man attempted to flee the home and made several verbal challenges to officers, but ultimately the suspect retreated back inside the home and refused to come out.
Jamestown Police called in their K9 unit, which found both suspects inside the home. One of the young men was injured, and EMS attended to his injuries at the scene.
A 15-year-old man was released to his parents. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Knappenberger was taken to the city jail on charges of second degree burglary, fourth degree criminal mischief and obstructing governmental administration.
