AMITY, N.Y. (WIVB) - A man from Kentucky resisted arrest causing a trooper to deploy his taser before the man cooperated and was taken into custody.
Following a traffic stop on County Route 20 in the Town of Amity, police found 44-year-old Ricky Counts from London, KY to be intoxicated while driving.
While he was being taken into custody, he physically resisted arrest causing the trooper to deploy his taser.
The tractor trailer driver finally cooperated. He was arrested for DWI, resisting arrest, and issued several traffic tickets.
Counts was arraigned at Town of Friendship Court and remanded to Allegany County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail.
He is to return to Amity Court on January 2, 2013 at 7 pm.
