CONEWANGO, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police say when they stopped a driver for being a litterbug, they discovered both occupants in the car had drugs on them.
Troopers stopped 18-year-old Kelsey Erdmann of South Dayton for littering on Route 62 in Conewango on July 3rd. Police say when Erdmann went to hand troopers her license, she exposed a cellophane wrapper containing a rolled up $20 and white powder residue, which was later determined to be hydrocodone. After searching Erdmann, her vehicle, and her passenger, 19-year-old Lynda Vanetten of South Dayton, troopers say they found four codeine pills, one hydrocodone pill and a marijuana pipe.
As neither woman had a prescription, both were charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and having a controlled substance in a non-original container. Vanetten was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
