LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) - Lockport Police are a holding a gun buyback on February 23rd, from noon until 5 p.m. At the buyback program, police will also have a place residents can drop off unwanted prescriptions. The event will take place at the Lockport Municipal building, at one Locks Plaza.
Lockport Police are asking people to “help stop the violence no questions asked.” They will be paying $10 for non working guns, $50 for working long guns, $75 for handguns and $100 for assault rifles.
In addition to the gun buyback, they will be accepting old, unwanted live rounds of ammunition. There will also be a drop off for unwanted or outdated prescription drugs or medications.
Police say they will give legal gun owners trigger locks.
