BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Mohamed Mohamud, the Buffalo man who's charged with murdering his young stepson, appeared in court Thursday for an evidence hearing.
He's charged with second degree murder in the death of his 13-year-old stepson, Abdi, earlier this year. Prosecutors say Mohamud beat the boy 70-times with a rolling pin after tying the boy's hands with an electrical cord.
Abdiy was found dead in the basement of the family's home.
The stepfather's trial is set to begin October 11th.
